Why Fresh Roasted Coffee
Most coffee purchased today is from large companies who tend to produce huge volumes but lack premium quality. Green coffee beans are imported, then roasted in large batches. Once at your local grocery store these mass produced coffee are shelved sit for months. The fact is that coffee is best consumed soon after roasting and begins to lose flavor rather quickly. This loss of flavor is measured in day's not weeks or months.
So how old is your coffee? Not sure? At Antler Coffee Roaster we have a passion for fresh roasted coffee. We purchase only speciality green coffee beans grown in ideal climates and altitudes. The result from these conditions is a longer, slower growth cycle, yielding green coffee beans that are denser and much more intensely flavorful than the mass produced coffee. The difference is truly remarkable. We feel everyone should experience specialty coffee, so we offer to you the opportunity to taste the freshness for yourself. To that end we will not roast your coffee until it is ordered then promptly ship it to you. That's why we place a "Roasted On" date on every bag of coffee we sell.
The Perfect Cup
There seem to be so many different ways to brew coffee. Is there a best way? Does it matter what kind of brewer I use? It all depends on your interpretation of "best". Best as could be getting the very finest flavor, or best as in the fastest brewed, or Best as in the most convenient.
If you want to know how to get the best flavor from your coffee, here are a few suggestions. Try a French Press or press pot. This is a very simple method of making excellent coffee. If you want a more automatic way to brew a pot of coffee, check out the brewer we use ourselves at home, the Bonavita drip brewer. If it's convenience you want, learn about the various types of single serve brewing systems like the V60 or the December Dripper. Are you one of those people that need an Americano or Latte and have your own Espresso machine.
